New Land

I’ve recently acquired some rural land in Connecticut full of beautiful stone walls designed by Deborah Nevins. In this first picture we’re reviewing some of her plans on site, namely a serpentine wall winding through he woods. Other pictures show some of the land maintenance underway. I’m so excited for what’s to come and will continue sharing photographs as the land gets developed.

All of these photos were made with a Leica M6 camera, 35mm APO-Summicron lens, and HP5 film — which has become my daily carry. I often feel like this type of “snapshot” turns out more engaging than my large format photos because they feel less composed and use more dynamic points of view. So, I’ve been thinking about how to use a 4x5 camera a little more like a Leica.
